Movement for Self Rule Self Respect - Insights into the Telangana Movement

This book mainly deals with the historical Telangana Movement from a Dalit Bahujan Perspective. The Movement for separate statehood itself demands a self- rule as they denied the political democracy from the formation of Andhra Pradesh state. Telangana people’s sentiments were hurt time and again and their resources were exploited. This has continued for a long time and the rise of the second phase of the Telangana movement where all walks of the people from Telangana actively taken part in. having said that, there were other voices which were suppressed and unheard due to the loudness in the demand of the separate state. The voice of the Dalits, Minorities and other oppressed sections of the Telangana raised similar demands alike the Telangana statehood. They asked for a justifiable resource distribution and equal share in the political, economic and social aspects. This book tries to record this voices which struggled for the formation of the Telangana not just the geographical bifurcation of the Andhra Pradesh state but also along with the bifurcation they demanded the equal opportunities. In that way, this book is a historical document for the coming generations who are interested in the study of Dalit Bahujan Assertion for equal rights and self-rule with the self-respect.
